O lvls are long over. Hello Asia Conference '08

Hey guys! It's been a hugely busy time for all of us! haha, and I can't even think of the stress you guys went through.
But it's ALL OVER! Hallelujah!!!
What's more, there's Asia Conference to celebrate!

haha, so wow! Almost a year has gone by, and here's us, W388! i still remember 2 years ago.
Then now we have gone on and, so many stick through until now! eichien, janet, kianhwee, sheryl, yanci, guanxian, shuwen, munyee, pearlyn, calvin... haha.
I really love you guys alot. W388 has been an important part of my life for so many years, and it's hard to imagine a life without Christ, without W388. Where would I be now then. hahaha.

i came in arrogant, a shell to cover myself. but then 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, finally 4 years. Going through these time with EVERYONE in W388, I emerge now, ironically proud to say that I no longer hide behind anything. I'm free to be myself with everyone. Haha. I can't say how much thankful am I.

and oh those times... haha... I gave problems to the cellgroup. haha, but you guys aren't ashamed to let others know that something like me happen to W388. And I'm definitely not ashamed something like [insert name] happen to W388. (:
Before accepting Christ, I always thought Christians were naive. Then I saw that my sister excel so much after becoming one.
So I thought, haha, if I become a Christian, then I also become excellent. Joining Church, after receiving salvation, I learnt the fatal truth! ahaha. That the only difference is determined by how much I allow myself to be changed by Christ, and to be mould by other Christians around.

just some things which i wanna say to the 'O's ppl:

finally, the most crucial time of the secondary sch years has come...
the last lap to determine the results of the race...
the fond memories of ur sec sch life...
the good times and the bad times...
wow! all these jus remind me of the times i had from 2004-2007!
well, i wanna say that it's going to be only less than a month before this agony will end..
DON'T EVER GIVE UP!!
for God didn't gave up on you!
it may be tough, it may be painful... cry for all u want as it will make u feel much better!
but most of all, why not cast all these burdens into God's hands?!
He's with u all the while; when u're studying, when u're happy, when u're sad.....
He knows ur needs, He understands how u feel..

and before i end this post, one more thing i really gotta say!
PRAY when u need the encouragement, comfort and love!
it is the solution to all ur problems!!
hope that u peeps will do well, and able to proclaim this verse together as a cg with enthusiasm and excitement upon getting back of the results in january 2009!!

we really had a great and wonderful time running madly and wildly around the whole of chinatown eh?!

Greeting in the Name of Jesus!

W388 SLOGAN: UNITY AND GROWTH

I believe the moment we enter into this group, God already has a purpose for us. The purpose is to be united and to grow this cell group!

What is Unity?
1) Singleness, or the state of being one complete whole
2) The state of being united or in agreement
3) Agreement and conjunction of mind, spirit, will, heart; harmony; concord.

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.” (Psalm 133)

God wants us to be part of His family and His family is definitely united as one.

How about GROWTH?

I believe, whatever our Almighty God touches, it grows.
Besides personal growth, what we are talking about here is Corporate Growth!

Why is W388 named as a cell group and not small group?
Because, the word "Cell" explains that it is a living organism. It has a life by itself and it has the ability to multiply.

Similarly, our "cell" group is alive and has the ability to multiply!
As we grow in quality, we will also grow in quantity (in numbers).
Every soul counts and matters very much to God, SO, it matters to us too

"THOSE WHO WIN SOULS IS WISE.."

"FOR THE HARVEST IS PLENTIFUL, BUT THE LABOURERS ARE FEW,
SO THEREFORE, SENT OUT LABOURERS.."

YES! The primary purpose of every individual in W388 is to be a labourer and be sent out to win the lost to Jesus Christ!!

GROWING IN PASSION FOR THE LORD

Dear all! Indeed, we had a wonderful CGM on Sunday.

Here's a recap on what we have learnt during CGM. This is posted for those who are not with us, but we want u to share the same experience we had through the Word of God:

Every living organisms grow when they are healthy.
Growth is natural for any living thing in the right condition.
The same principle is true for the Body of Christ.

Growing a healthy church begins with having a consuming passion for God.

What is passion?

Passion = An intense emotion, strong feeing, a great devotion and intense conviction which fuels or motivates us towards compelling actions.

Rom 12:11
2 Cor 7:11
2 Cor 9:2

Acts 2:37-47
- The church rapidly through their passion for the things of God and eventually, God added three thousands people to them.

THREE AREAS THEY WERE PASSIONATE ABOUT:

1) SPIRITUAL DEVOTION
- Quiet time, bible reading, fellowship, ministry etc.

2) SERVING ONE ANOTHER
- Constantly blessing the people around them
- Givers and not takers
- keeping a look out for one another's needs
- This builds UNITY and LOVE

3) LIVING THEIR LIVES FOR GOD
- The most fulfilling life that we can ever have is a life of a believer.
- When we walk with God, life becomes an adventure and we can experience fresh encounters with him everyday.

Col 4:2 "Continue earnestly in pray, being vigilant about it.."

Passion comes through Prayer.

Prayer is the key to restoring passion in your life, ministry and your relationships.

Let's continue to set our hearts to hunger for the Lord and to seek Him like never before!

Increase in our level of passion in these 3 areas in our lives!!

Hey, I realised I've not bookmarked this blog. Anyway, I'm really glad to have this cellgroup as part of my life for coming to 4 years already; to backslide or to leave the cellgroup would amount to wasting 4 years of my life to nothingness.

I was really grateful for the discussion in NYDC and was really greatly inspired by the attitudes some of us had towards the vision of the cellgroup and thus I would like to make known to every single person my public commitment to the utmost for W388.

I urge everyone to do the same as well, and thank God for every single person who was with us, still are with us, and will be with us, because W388 has been through with me my teenage years, and I'm glad to be part of it.

The Rich Family in Our Church,

I'll never forget Easter, 1946. I was 14, my little sister Ocy 12, and my older sister Darlene 16. We lived at home with our mother, and the four of us knew what it was to do without many things. My dad had died 5 years before, leaving Mom with seven school kids to raise and no money. By 1946 my older sisters were married, and my brothers had left home.

A month before Easter, the pastor of our church announced that a special Easter offering would be taken to help a poor family. He asked everyone to save and give sacrificially. When we got home, we talked about what we could do. We decided to buy 50 pounds of potatoes and live on them for a month. This would allow us to save $20 of our grocery money for the offering.

When we thought that if we kept our electric lights turned out as much as possible and didn't listen to the radio, we'd save money on that month's electric bill. Darlene got as many house and yard cleaning jobs as possible, and both of us babysat for everyone we could. For 15 cents, we could buy enough cotton loops to make three pot holders to sell for $1. We made $20 on pot holders.

That month was one of the best of our lives. Every day we counted the money to see how much we had saved. At night we'd sit in the dark and talk about how the poor family was going to enjoy having the money the church would give them. We had about 80 people in church, so we figured that whatever amount of money we had to give, the offering would surely be 20 times that much. After all, every Sunday the pastor had reminded everyone to save for the sacrificial offering.

The day before Easter, Ocy and I walked to the grocery store and got the manager to give us three crisp $20 bills and one $10 bill for all our change. We ran all the way home to show Mom and Darlene. We had never had so much money before. That night we were so excited we could hardly sleep. We didn't care that we wouldn't have new clothes for Easter; we had $70 for the sacrificial offering. We could hardly wait to get to church!

On Sunday morning, rain was pouring. We didn't own an umbrella, and the church was over a mile from our home, but it didn't seem to matter how wet we got. Darlene had cardboard in her shoes to fill the holes. The cardboard came apart, and her feet got wet. But we sat in church proudly. I heard some teenagers talking about the Smith girls having on their old dresses. I looked at them in their new clothes, and I felt so rich.

When the sacrificial offering was taken, we were sitting on the second row from the front. Mom put in the $10 bill, and each of us girls put in a $20. As we walked home after church, we sang all the way. At lunch Mom had a surprise for us. She had bought a dozen eggs, and we had boiled Easter eggs with our fried potatoes!

Late that afternoon the minister drove up in his car. Mom went to the door, talked with him for a moment, and then came back with an envelope in her hand. We asked what it was, but she didn't say a word. She opened the envelope and out fell a bunch of money. There were three crisp $20 bills, one $10 and seventeen $1. Mom put the money back in the envelope. We didn't talk, just sat and stared at the floor. We had gone from feeling like millionaires to feeling like poor white trash.

We kids had had such a happy life that we felt sorry for anyone who didn't have our mom and dad for parents and a house full of brothers and sisters and other kids visiting constantly. We thought it was fun to share silverware and see whether we got the fork or the spoon that night. We had two knives which we passed around to whoever needed them.

I knew we didn't have a lot of things that other people had, but I'd never thought we were poor. That Easter Day I found out we were. The minister had brought us the money for the poor family, so we must be poor. I didn't like being poor. I looked at my dress and worn-out shoes and felt so ashamed that I didn't want to go back to church. Everyone there probably already knew we were poor! I thought about school. I was in the ninth grade and at the top of my class of over 100 students. I wondered if the kids at school knew we were poor. I decided I could quit school since I had finished the eighth grade. That was all the law required at that time.

We sat in silence for a long time. Then it got dark, and we went to bed. All that week, we girls went to school and came home, and no one talked much. Finally on Saturday, Mom asked us what we wanted to do with the money. What did poor people do with money? We didn't know. We'd never known we were poor.

We didn't want to go to church on Sunday, but Mom said we had to. Although it was a sunny day, we didn't talk on the way. Mom started to sing, but no one joined in and she only sang one verse. At church we had a missionary speaker. He talked about how churches in Africa made buildings out of sun-dried bricks, but they need money to buy roofs. He said $100 would put a roof on a church. The minister said, "Can't we all sacrifice to help these poor people?"

We looked at each other and smiled for the first time in a week. Mom reached into her purse and pulled out the envelope. She passed it to Darlene. Darlene gave it to me, and I handed it to Ocy. Ocy put it in the offering. When the offering was counted, the minister announced that it was a little over $100. The missionary was excited. He hadn't expected such a large offering from our small church. He said, "You must have some rich people in this church."

Suddenly it struck us! We had given $87 of that "little over $100." We were the rich family in the church! Hadn't the missionary said so? From that day on I've never been poor again.

I've always remembered how rich I am because I have Jesus.

So anyway, Janet requested me to post, so here's my post. I just wanna say all the best for 2008 to all W388ers over here. May it be the best year yet for our cellgroup and it's individual constituents. I try not to be chim here in this post lar... So I be talking like that. I do really hope to be a real help in the cellgroup and be closer to you guys. Let's all work together for the common good of the cellgroup this year yeah?

I believe that God speak about last week's sermon about the POWER OF FOCUS. And I think that whatever that had been preached can be applied in every area of our lives and it's the very thing it talks about that keeps it going; focus. So, as a cellgroup, I believe we can focus for the greater good of the cellgroup.
And I hereby give my word in my commitment to the works of the cellgroup. I really want to show myself that I can succeed in giving a full on commitment to the cellgroup. That will be my goal for this year and every year after this.

Long live W388. May we live a legacy upon itself and it's daughter cells forever. Amen.

and grumbled to God, "So, I'm waiting... for what?"
He seemed then to kneel, and His eyes met with mine...
and He tenderly said, "I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens and darken the sun.
I could raise the dead and cause mountains to run.

You'd have what you want, but you wouldn't know Me.
You'd not know the depth of My love for each saint.
